Creating a Team Project on Team Foundation Server

To create a team project with Team Foundation Server, you must use Team Explorer 2010. Team Explorer 2010 is an add-on for VS that permits you to work with source control, work items, build definitions, and further, without ever exiting VS. Team Explorer also installs the necessary add-ins to work with Team Foundation Server from within Excel and Project. You will acquire much about clients that can access Team Foundation Server. If the Team Explorer window is not by now visible within VS,you can enable it by clicking View >Team Explorer. If you set up Team Explorer on the same computer as your Team Foundation Serverinstallation, your server host may already be populated for you. If you installed Team Explorer on a different system, you should add your Team Foundation Server name manually by clicking the Connect to Team Project button (the rightmost button near the top of the Team Explorer window). From the Connect to Team Project window, click Servers to add a new server. Click Add and supply the address of your Team Foundation Server. You can find this in the Team Foundation Server Administration Console under Application Tier > Server URL (such as http://teamfoundationservername:8080/tfs ).
Afterward you have added your server, click OK> Close>select the server you want to connect to in the drop - down box . If you used the Basicconfig, you may have a single team project collection named Default Collection .click Connect after selecting it.
Click File > New > Team Project to open the New Team Project wizard. Offer a name for your team project and, optionally, a description. Click Next after it isfinished.You will then be provoked to select the process template that youneed to use for this new team project, and afterward, you will be asked how you want to set up source control for your project. you may accept the default options for now and then click Finish. The wizard will applya few minutes trying to create your team project. When you are done, the Team Explorer window will display your team project. You can now activate creating work items, source control, build definitions, and many others for this team project.
