How to audit File access on Server 2008
On important files and folder, you may want to configure auditing to keep an access log. It allows logging of who is accessing a directory.
Configure auditing on a folder on Server 2008
- Right click folder which you want to audit
- Select Security tab
- Click the Advanced button.
- Select Auditing tab.
- Click the Edit button
- Click the Add button, enter the Everyone group
- Select types of access that you want audited.
- Click OK to apply, Click Ok to save the settings
Now, you may view the auditing log from the Event Viewer.
